David Goggins, one of the most respected and celebrated American endurance athletes, motivational speaker, and a distinguished former Navy SEAL, has arrived in New Zealand for the very first time. Known worldwide as an icon of resilience and mental toughness, Goggins has been able to create a reputation of his own by constantly pushing limits of physical endurance and psychological boundaries, while sharing his journey and experiences with millions of people from around the world who look up to him. His visit has fans and newbies excited alike, and an event is planned in Auckland that will be sure to inspire New Zealanders from everyone.

Who is David Goggins?
Born in 1975, David Goggins has lived through an astonishing variety of experiences his entire life. His childhood was that had been seriously affected by the realities of domestic violence and poverty. Growing up, he went through many career changes that tested his limits and resilience in ways only a few people can fully appreciate.
After an early life of obesity and purposelessness, he transformed himself by entering the United States Navy SEALS, becoming one of the few to ever pass their infamous SEAL training (BUD/S) multiple times. Besides his military career, Goggins gained a reputation for performing mind-bending feats of endurance: he set a world record with the most pull-ups in 24 hours and completed multiple ultra-marathons, triathlons, and extreme-endurance challenges.

What New Zealanders Can Expect
On top of his many public speaking appearances, which always have a large turnout, Goggins will also be lined up for a joint activity with some of New Zealand’s own finest high-performance athletes. That will include a session with our national rugby team, the All Blacks. The All Blacks are known and highly respected for their emphasis on developing mental strength and resilience in training and performance. His recent visit has created excitement across different social media platforms, where many New Zealanders share their own expectations and stories of the influence that his work has had on their lives. Many have shared stories of how, through his books, motivational videos, and online challenges, Goggins made them reconsider. His memoir, titled Can’t Hurt Me: Master Your Mind and Defy the Odds, has not only gained international bestseller status but also developed a fan base in New Zealand.
